Watch Dogs: Legion has an optional permadeath mode, a neat little feature. But how do you turn it off if you’re getting sick of seeing your characters die?
Watch Dogs: Legion has a permadeath mode that you can enable when the game starts, meaning that when your characters die, they’re done. Lose all of them and it’s game over. It’s an interesting way of raising the stakes – but it does mean that character you’ve got so attached to can die.
Luckily, there’s a way to change your mind. If you’ve enabled permadeath mode and want to turn it off, you can do so from the menu. Go to the main menu (press the ‘options’ button on PS4) and select options. Then, go to gameplay. Permadeath should be the second option. Select it and move the option to off.
You’ll be asked if you want to definitely disable permadeath. Agree and permadeath is now off. You can stop worrying about your characters meeting a gruesome end. However, there’s a catch. You can’t turn permadeath back on; it’s off for the rest of the campaign. The only way to play in permadeath mode once more is to start the campaign all over again.
So, yes, can you can disable permadeath mode, but be sure it’s what you really want because there’s no going back.
