Wandering around an area in Torchlight 3 often requires the use of your map. Here’s how to view it in full.
In Torchlight 3, every area you explore has a minimap visible in your HUD by default. But sometimes, you want to see more of the area. Thankfully, you can pull up a full map. Simply press ‘left’ on your controller’s d-pad.
You can also see an area’s map by heading into the game’s character menu and toggling to ‘map’. By default, it shows the overworld map – simply highlighting each area. But with the press of a button, you can toggle to the specific map for your current area. It’s much easier to just press ‘left’ on your d-pad to get there, though.
The map will only show areas you’ve explored. Areas you haven’t been will be highlighted in red, and will be cut off. So you won’t be able to see full pathways until you’ve already been down them. Finding the entrance or exit you need to head to still means wandering around until you find the right direction.
You also can’t zoom in to Torchlight 3‘s map, which means your view is rather small. But it still provides a handy overview of the area.
