I haven’t stopped talking about If Found… since I first played it.
When If Found… first released on iOS and PC back in May, I was in love with it. Head over heels. The art style, the story, and the characters all fit together so cohesively. And while it is only a short title, it left a lasting impression.
Now available on the Nintendo Switch, I’ve revisited the title. I’ve reintroduced myself to main character Kasio, struggling with her identity and with finding a place where she feels like she fits. I’ve re-entered the walls of the abandoned mansion in West Ireland and seen the comfort that Kasio feels within those walls. Even the second (or third, or fourth) time around, it is an incredible tale of self-exploration and self-discovery. And I loved hearing the game’s music and erasing scenes from Kasio’s notebook as if it were my own.
New and exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version of the game is a variety of new features. There’s new artwork, a bonus chapter, and even additional epilogues. There are also some accessibility options that players can tweak, including touchscreen controls. I highly recommend giving touch screen a try, as erasing some of the scenes in the game can be incredibly satisfying. These additional features add more depth to the game’s story and more ways for the players to insert themselves into the game.
If you’re looking for a story about family, acceptance, isolation and more, you can stop at If Found…. It ticks all of the boxes. It’s gorgeous, sad, memorable and everything in between.
You can pick up the game right now on the Nintendo Switch eShop for £9.99/$12.99. And if you’d like to hear our full thoughts on the game, you can read our review right here.
