Microsoft Actually Made an Xbox Fridge

It’s unusual that an internet meme becomes reality, but that’s exactly what Microsoft has made happen.

Remember when the Xbox Series X was first unveiled? A swathe of internet memes about how the black box looks like a fridge ensued. We laughed, we shared the meme, we didn’t think anything else if it.

Little did we know that some months later, just a couple of weeks away from the launch of the Xbox Series X, that Microsoft would make that fridge a Real Thing. Yes, over the weekend, two of them were sent out in the wild.

One was sent to rapper Snoop Dogg, who relished in showing it filled up with various drinks. Another one landed into the garage of YouTuber iJustine, whose hilarious “unboxing” video shows her excitement over the gigantic package.

The fridge itself is an exact replica of the console – only multiple times larger. It has output detailing on the back, a disc drive detail on the front, and it even lights up and makes a noise when you open the door.

Sadly, we think it’s safe to assume that the Xbox Fridge won’t be appearing in your local electricals store any time soon. But it’s still rather cool that Microsoft has brought a meme to life. And we can all live vicariously through Snoop Dogg and iJustine.
