Talk about getting a face-lift.
Everyone who purchases Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition on PS5 will get a free copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered included. But what exactly does the Remastered version entail? On the PlayStation Blog, developer Insomniac Games have provided some much-needed details.
Of course, first things first – graphical updates. The team has been hard at work improving the game’s visuals in every possible way. From new skies, to reflections on windows of buildings and updated ambient shadows, Spider-Man Remastered will look much better than the original PS4 release thanks to the added power of the new console.
But possibly one of the biggest changes is in the characters’ animations.
Spider-Man Remastered‘s characters will have higher fidelity skin, eye and teeth shaders as well as individually-rendered strands of hair. Peter Parker’s face has even been recast with a brand new actor. Ben Jordan is replacing John Bubniak as the face of Peter Parker; Insomniac says this is because he’s a “better match” for Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture.
As if that wasn’t enough, players can also expect the remastered version to include near-instant loading and Spatial 3D Audio on headphones. The DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will be fully taken advantage of, too. Fans of the game’s photo mode can also expect new features.
Those that are interesting in picking up Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales can grab the physical and digital version on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 for $49.99. The PS4 version offers a free upgrade to PS5 for players who purchase the new console at a later date. If you want to play Spider-Man Remastered, though, you’ll need to purchase the Ultimate Edition. It won’t be available to purchase separately.
