Bloober Team’s upcoming dual-reality horror game The Medium finally has a release date.
Putting players in the shoes of Marianne, a medium who is able to see and interact with two worlds thanks to her psychic powers, The Medium will be one of the first titles to launch exclusively for the Xbox Series X and S. It will also be available on PC, however, via Steam, Epic Store and Microsoft Store.
So, if you’re after a scare, mark 10th December in your diary, as that’s the day that The Medium will launch. And from what we’ve seen of it already, it sure is shaping up to be creepy. Its art style is inspired by Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński, famed for his dystopian surrealist work. And then there’s the game’s soundtrack, put together by both Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka. Anyone that has played a Silent Hill game will be familiar with Yamaoka’s work.
Preorders for The Medium are live right now, and a 10% discount is available for those who take a chance on the game before it launches via Steam, Epic Store and Microsoft Store. Those who preorder via Steam will also receive the game’s original soundtrack and a digital artbook. It’s worth noting, however, that The Medium will launch into Xbox Game Pass.
You can check out the release date reveal video for The Medium below. The track used in the video, Marianne’s Theme by Arkadiusz Reikowski, is also free to download via Steam to get you in the mood for the game as its launch draws closer.
