We Unboxed an Xbox Series S

Microsoft’s next-generation consoles are out on 10th November. But we’ve had our hands on an Xbox Series S early – and we’ve got as far as taking it out of the box.

Well, not quite. But that’s all we can show you for now.

The Xbox Series S box contains everything you need to get started with your next-generation console: the teeny console itself, Microsoft’s updated Xbox controller, a high-speed HDMI cable, a power cable, and a handy quick-start guide.

As you’d expect, the console is solid and weighty, despite being very small.

The controller is familiar to anyone who’s used an Xbox pad at any point in the last seven years, though some quality of life changes have been made. There’s now a handy ‘share’ button, of course. The d-pad has been updated, and the grips and triggers are textured for additional grip when holding it.

All in all then, it’s a very nice package. We can’t talk about actually using the console just yet. You’ll have to come back next week for that. But until then, enjoy our Xbox Series S unboxing video below.
