Are you playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and wondering if you can raid in co-op or multiplayer with your friends? Read on.
Ubisoft’s latest open world epic is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, taking the long-running series into the world of the Vikings. In the game, you play as Eivor, out on a journey of revenge and to claim new lands for her and her clan. But is the game strictly single-player, or can you play Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in multiplayer or co-op?
If you’re hoping for some multiplayer action, you’re out of luck. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is strictly a single-player affair. There’s no support for local or online co-op play, and there’s no multiplayer modes, either.
However, all is not lost. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla does have one sort-of online multiplayer feature up its sleeve. As outlined on the game’s official website, you can create your own custom raider. Accessible once you reach a certain part of the game, you can have a team of mercenary Vikings who you can share online with your friends. If your friends use them in battle, you’ll gain rewards, even when you’re offline. Likewise, you can recruit your friends’ mercenaries to make use of their strength.
But if you were hoping to play Valhalla’s story in co-op, or join in some live multiplayer combat, you’ll not find that here. But as far as single-player campaigns go, this is one of the richest and most varied you’ll find in an open world game.
If you want to play locally with friends, we recommend passing a controller around and taking it in turns to complete activities. Whooping and cheering when your friends successfully defeat their foes in combat is almost as fun as doing it yourself.
