A direct sequel to the original Call of Duty: Black Ops’ campaign, the one found in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is worth jumping into.
Taking players back to the 1980s, the campaign found in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is full of explosive set pieces, espionage and intense warfare. It’s a bit experimental, too, packing in dialogue choices, optional missions and multiple endings. Though you might be wondering how many missions there actually are.
Technically speaking, there are 18 mission in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s campaign. Or at least that’s what the game’s mission select menu would have you believe. The truth is though, that three of those are actually little more than mission briefings, giving you a chance to talk to members of your team and play around in the hub before selecting your next proper mission.
So, that means there are 15 proper mission in Black Ops Cold War‘s campaign, but you won’t be playing them all in one playthrough. You see, two of them are optional, with players needing to gather evidence in other story missions to truly complete them. And depending on your dialogue choices late in the game, the last mission will be one of two.
So, during a single playthrough of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s campaign, players will engage in between 12-14 missions, depending on whether they take part in the optional missions. You can handily jump back into the second to last mission to change your dialogue choices and gain access the alternative final mission though, if you’re curious.
