In the early days of Assassin’s Creed, putting up a hood and blending in with the crowd was an important tactic. It’s back in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and here’s how you use it.
You can wear your cloak and hood at any time in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; it’s just a couple of button presses away.
To use your cloak, simply hold down on your d-pad to bring up the radial menu. From there, use your right analogue stick to navigate to ‘cloak’, and release the d-pad to activate it. Eivor will now be cloaked with their hood up.
Using a cloak in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is useful for moving through hostile areas unnoticed – but it doesn’t work by itself. You’ll also need to walk slowly, avoid getting too close to enemies to rouse suspicions, and blend in with your surroundings.
Cloaked or not, if you run, collide with an enemy, pull out a weapon or otherwise make any other sudden or unexpected movements, it’s more than likely you’ll alert the enemy. So move slowly and carefully, and avoid bringing attention to yourself.
It’s worth noting you can’t activate your cloak if you’re already in combat. They’ve already seen you; you can’t hide that easily!
To put your cloak away, simply hold down on the d-pad again, and navigate to cloak.
