Back 4 Blood is Just What Left 4 Dead Fans Have Been Waiting For

Back 4 Blood

Players have finally got a glimpse of what the team behind Left 4 Dead has been working on.

The Game Awards 2020 was held last night, which means tonnes of gaming-related goodies were shown off. One of the most exciting reveals yesterday during the show was Back 4 Blood from Turtle Rock Studios.

Turtle Rock Studios is the critically-acclaimed team behind the iconic Left 4 Dead franchise. Back 4 Blood is the newest co-op zombie game that the team has been working on. In the game you play as four survivors known as ‘the Cleaners’. Their world has been overrun by the parasitic Devil Worm which turns people into zombie-like monsters.

The trailer shown off at The Game Awards gave players a look at all four playable characters as well as some of the new zombie types we can look forward to chasing us in-game. Back 4 Blood can be played with four players online, but you can also play solo with AI teammates. It will support up to eight players in online PvP as well.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on the game, a closed PC alpha test will begin on December 17th. It will only run for a limited time and closes on December 21st. You can register on the game’s official website for a chance to be able to participate in the alpha.

Players can watch the Back 4 Blood Showcase on December 17th to get an even closer look at the game alongside members of the Turtle Rock Studio team. You can find the stream on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.

Back 4 Blood is set to release worldwide on June 22nd 2021 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
