As you make your way through Cyberpunk 2077, you might begin to wonder if you can play from a third-person viewpoint instead of first-person.
It would kind of make sense, given that quite a lot of emphasis is put on making your own character. After all, playing in first-person rarely gives you the opportunity to actually see them – you’ll generally only catch a glimpse of your character in story scenes unless you make frequent use of photo mode. So, can you play Cyberpunk 2077 from a third-person viewpoint?
The answer, unfortunately, is no. Not totally, anyway. While you can change from a first-person view to multiple third-person views while driving a car or riding a bike, when you’re on foot, i.e. the huge majority of the game, the action is strictly locked to first-person. When in a car or on a bike, simply press right on the d-pad if you’re playing with a controller to switch between views. While on foot, the same button will simply summon your selected vehicle to you.
