You’re in a cyberpunk world, so naturally you’re going to want to modify yourself in weird and wonderful ways. Here’s how to get implants in Cyberpunk 2077.
While you can develop your character in Cyberpunk 2077 by levelling up, spending perk points and acquiring equipment, you can also make them stronger by having implants installed.
To get implants, you need to visit a Ripperdoc. These are the only people who can perform the invasive procedure required. They’re spread all throughout Night City; just look for the surgical tool icon on your map.
Each Ripperdoc in Cyberpunk 2077 seems to carry their own inventory of implants, so what one doc offers might differ from the next. It’s a good idea to visit each one to see what they have available.
You’ll find that nearly every part of your body can be implanted, including legs, arms and eyes. Some parts of your body can have multiple implants, too, for even more bonuses. For example, your arms can be modified so that blades can come out of them, literally turning you into a living weapon. And by modding your legs, you can gain the ability to double-jump. Mix these together, and the possibilities are almost endless.
You’ll need implants if you want to use the smart weapons that you’ll find dotted around Night City. These allow you to fire bullets that automatically hone in on enemies, but unless you’ve got the right implant you won’t be able to use them.
Unfortunately, a lot of Cyberpunk 2077‘s implants won’t be available to you until later in the game. Some of them have ‘street cred’ requirements, and others may require your stats to be of a certain level. There’s also the fact that many of the best implants are truly expensive, so you’ll need a lot of money to make your character god-like. But it is possible, and it’s a lot of fun!
