Pre-orders are Open for Limited Run’s Epic Monkey Island 30th Anniversary Anthology

Monkey Island Anniversary

If you’re a Monkey Island fan, you’re absolutely going to want this.

Limited Run Games, a publisher that releases limited run physical games, has a 30th Anniversary Anthology edition of Monkey Island available for pre-order right now.

The Secret of Monkey Island, the first game in the series, originally released 30 years ago for PC. The series is still very popular today (with its rarer entries making their way to modern PCs in recent years), and it’s regarded as one of the best examples of the point and click genre; a genre that Monkey Island can be credited with making popular in the first place.

To celebrate Monkey Island’s 30th Anniversary, Limited Run is releasing a rather special Anthology collection. Containing a statue of Guybrush, all the games, and various other collectible trinkets, it’s a must-have item for any fan of the series. But you’ll need to have seriously deep pockets if you want it: it costs $174.99.

Here’s everything that you’ll get with the Monkey Island 30th Anniversary Anthology:

  • “Certificate of Arrr!thenticity” hand-signed by Ron Gilbert
  • Disk 22 Floppy Diskette
  • BIG WHOOP Amusement Park “E” Ticket
  • “ASK ME ABOUT LOOM” Button Shadowbox
  • 6” Guybrush Resin Statue
  • Code Wheels
  • Enamel Pin Set
  • Resin Murray Candle Holder
  • Behind-The-Scenes 160+ Page Anniversary Book
  • 5 Reversible 8 x 10 inch Mini-Posters featuring maps and promo art on reverse-side
  • 4-Disc DVD-ROM Collection containing all five games
  • USB with all 5 games

Pre-orders are open now on Limited Run’s website. The window to pre-order closes January 31st at 11:59pm Eastern.

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
