Hello Kitty and Animal Crossing together? Sign me up please!
Nintendo announced on its Twitter yesterday that its will be collaborating with Sanrio, creators of Hello Kitty, later this year. On March 26th 2021, an Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack of Amiibo cards will hit Target shelves in the US. They’ll also be available in Europe, though further details are yet to be announced.
The pack comes with six Amiibo cards that feature Animal Crossing villagers Rilla, Marty, Etoile, Chai, Chelsea and Toby. These characters were originally featured via the same amiibo cards back in 2016 for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. They allowed players to unlock loads of Sanrio themed furniture and items.

Unfortunately, because this set is just a re-release (previously only available in Europe and Japan previously) players that purchase the pack for use in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will likely be disappointed. Players will not be able to unlock the Sanrio furniture, but instead will just be receiving a set of posters they can hang up in-game.
Players can play Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and utilise the cards there, though. Additionally, if you feel like dusting off your 3DS, they are also compatible with New Leaf.
Not quite the exciting collaboration we might have all been hoping for, but it is nice to see these characters come together again.
Look out for The Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack landing in March.
