Biomutant, a futuristic action RPG set in a word populated by anthropomorphic animals, has been given a final release date.
Developed by Experiment 101 and published by THQ Nordic, it’ll be released on the 25th of May, landing on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. It should also, through backwards compability, be playable on the Xbox Series S/X and Playstation 5.
Aside from hacking animals up in an open-world environment, Biomutant will let you attach robot body parts to your character, transforming them into some sort of furry cyborg. Your character can also be warped by radiation giving them powers like ‘Turtleform’ and ‘Mucus Bubble’ though, having sat opposite a small child with a runny nose, we’re not sure how the latter ability is an advantage. Maybe it glues your foes in place as they cover their mouths with one hand and offer you a paper hanky with the other.
Aside from the regular edition of Biomutant, you’ll also be able to purchase a Collector’s Edition and an Atomic Edition. The latter includes a 60cm long diorama, a steelbook, a T-Shirt, a mousepad, soundtrack, the artwork on a A1 piece of fabric and a ‘premium box’, for £349.99. Given some of THQ Nordic’s previous shenanigans, we’re grateful they didn’t announce the release date by shaving it into the side of a badger.
