Cosmic Shooter Curved Space is Landing This Year

Curved Space

Cosmic shoot-em-up Curved Space, which hit beta last year, is pencilled in for a 2021 release.

The manic shoot-em-up was originally meant to be released in October 2020 but Coronavirus-related issues pushed the release back to this year. A twin-stick shooter, it resembles a mash-up of Super Mario Galaxy and Geometry Wars, with some ludicrously large bosses tossed in for good measure.

Curved Space has you blasting your way around a variety of planets and asteroids, populated by robot spiders, robot spiders and more robot spiders. What’s particularly disturbing about this setup, apart from all the spiders, is that since the planets are curved, you could in theory be attacked from any angle. We’re looking forward to seeing if developers Only By Midnight Ltd have capitalised on this aspect of the game. They claim to be have been inspired by arcade shooters but with most arcade shoot-em-ups you know which direction the enemy is coming from. Here, it feels a lot less ‘safe’.

You can check out Curved Space’s trailer below and get your hands on it when hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC later this year.

He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
