If you’ve picked up Hitman 3, chances are you’re a fan of the series and also have the previous two games in the World of Assassination trilogy.
One of the cool features of Hitman 3 is that like in Hitman 2, you can import the locations of the previous game into it, allowing you to play them with improved visuals and mechanics. So, if you own all three games on one format, you can access all of their locations just by launching Hitman 3. Though you might be wondering: how do you import old locations into Hitman 3? The answer is, it depends on which format you’re playing.
PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X
If you own Hitman or Hitman 2 on PS4, you can import the locations of those games into Hitman 3 on PS4 or PS5. The same goes with Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. All you need to do to import their locations into Hitman 3 is find Hitman 3 in the applicable store, and then download the appropriate access passes that should be available for free. The only problem you might run into is that to get the Hitman GOTY Access Pass to show up as free, you must have launched Hitman since the release of Hitman 2 and claimed the free Hitman Legacy pack from within it. Once you own that, the Hitman GOTY Access Pass will become available. So, to get all the locations of Hitman and Hitman 2 into Hitman 3 on console, you might have to download the first game again.
PC via Epic Games Store
On PC, Hitman 3 is currently only available via the Epic Games Store, which throws up some location importing issues. Anyone who owns Hitman – Game of the Year Edition on the Epic Games Store will be able to download the Hitman GOTY Access Pass for Hitman 3 for free. Those purchasing Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store within 10 days of its release will also get the Hitman GOTY Access Pass for free.
Problems arise when it comes to the Hitman 2 Access Passes, however, as the game is not currently available via the Epic Games Store. IO Interactive has pledged to make the Access Passes free for those who own Hitman 2 on Steam, but it may take a while for them to do so. If you’re impatient and don’t mind spending a bit of money, all of the Hitman 2 Access Passes for Hitman 3 will be available at 80% off for the first 14 days after the game’s launch.
Google Stadia offers the easiest way to get all of the locations in one place. If you own Hitman or Hitman 2 on Stadia then buy Hitman 3, their locations will be available in the game automatically. Even better, the first two Hitman games are included in the Stadia Pro line-up, so if you’re already a subscriber and you purchase Hitman 3 on the platform, you’ll have instant access to all of the locations.
As the previous two Hitman games haven’t been released on Switch, those wanting to gain access to the old locations in Hitman 3 will have to buy the Access Passes. So, if you want the full World of Assassination experience on Switch it could end up being costly.
