“Shortnite”, a short film festival is coming to Fortnite’s Party Royale Big Screen.
Not be confused with Shartnite, which is when Fortnite players misjudge how badly they need a bathroom break, Shortnite is a showing of twelve acclaimed animated films. You can watch the shorts via Picture-in-Picture but for a more authentic experience, you can turn up at Party Royale’s Big Screen and just sit back and chill.
One of the films, Bench, is currently in the running for a BAFTA and, going by the Shortnite trailer, at least one other features a morbidly obese Gazelle being chased by an equally overweight lion. Another short also looks faintly disturbing, though we’d really like to see a Halloween version of Shortnite. There are a wealth of great horror shorts and being able to sit down, in-game, and watch these on the big screen inside the small screen would really be an experience.
Shortnite will start February 20, 2021 at 2 PM ET and run continuously until February 21, 2021 at 2 PM ET or whatever your local equivalent time is. It looks as if the shorts will be looping on the big screen, so you should have plenty of opportunities to watch them. If you want a taste of what to expect, check out the trailer below.
