Burning Crusade is Headed to World of Warcraft Classic

Burning Crusade

Is it 2007 again?

At yesterday’s BlizzConline it was announced that World of Warcraft Classic would be introducing the Burning Crusade expansion to the game. Burning Crusade will be added at no additional cost to those that are already subscribed.

No release date was announced but later this year players will be able to return to Hellfire Peninsula. Jump into the game in order to stop the incursion of the Legion. Wade your way through the fungal forests of Zangarmarsh and prepare to defeat Illidan the Betrayer.

As players already know Burning Crusade added two new playable races. WoW Classic players will be able to welcome the Horde’s Blood Elves and the Alliance’s Draenei back into the game. Join your friends as you travel through Blade’s Edge Mountains. Hunt alongside Mag’har orcs on Nagrand and, of course, battle demon agents of the Legion in the Black Temple.

Burning Crusade was also the introduction of Arena so you’ll want to pull together your friends in 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5 Arena Battles like the Ring of Trials or the Circle of Blood.

Conquer the skies on your flying mounts, take on 5-player dungeons Tempest Keep and the Caverns of Time or the 10-player Karazhan. But, don’t stop there. Gear up, grab as many friends as you can gather and tackle Kil’jaeden in the 25-player Sunwell Plateau.

But don’t worry, if you don’t want to journey into the Dark Portal right away you can continue with the original WoW Classic content on Classic Era servers. If you decide you do want to start the expansion later there will be a paid “cloning” service avaiable at a later date.

Keep an eye on on future updates because a beta test for Burning Crusade Classic is on the way and Blizzard is asking it’s players to give feedback.

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
