
It may have been the longest month in history, clocking in at 573 days, but January is finally over.
It’s now February, and with a new month comes a haul of new releases. Or some new releases, anyway. February’s a bit quiet on the games front, but we still have some excellent titles worth being excited for.
Here’s what you can look forward to playing later this month.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox
Release date: 2nd February NA / 5th February EU
Formats: PS4
The latest entry in the Ys series is almost here. In Ys IX: Monstrum Nox you’ll take on the role of one of the six Monstrum; characters equipped with unique abilities that allow them to protect their city from dangerous creatures. As the Monstrum, you’ll explore the city, aid townsfolk and rid the world of its threats. Look out for our thoughts on the game soon.
Habroxia 2
Release date: 3rd February
Formats: PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC
If you enjoy classic shooters, then Habroxia 2 is worth keeping your eye on. Fight your way through space, facing off against impressive bosses and upgrading your ship as you go. Look out for our review very soon.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood
Release date: 4th February
Formats: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC
Ever wanted to be a werewolf? Well, now you can be. Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is an action RPG that puts you in the shoes of Cahal. As a werewolf, Cahal can take either human or wolf form, and with the touch of a button you can flick between them. You’ll need both forms to take down the forces that threaten Cahal and the wellbeing of planet Earth. Look out for our review later this week.
The Nioh Collection
Release date: 5th February
Formats: PS5
If you’re a Nioh fan, the 5th February is a good day. The Nioh Collection is landing on PS5, bringing enhanced versions of both Nioh games to our screens. Nioh 2 Complete Edition is also arriving on PC on the same day, bundling the game and all its DLC on PC for the first time.
Little Nightmares 2
Release date: 11th February
Formats: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch (PS5 and Xbox Series X to follow)
If you liked Little Nightmares, you’re going to love Little Nightmares II. This sequel turns up the scares and atmosphere in just about every way. We’ve played through the first two levels of the game, and it’s left us extremely impressed. If you like puzzle platform games and horror, this is one for you.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Release date: 12th February
Formats: Switch
Originally released on Wii U, Super Mario 3D World is making its way to Switch this month. With improved gameplay and a whole new add-on – Bowser’s Fury – it’s a must for any Mario fan. We previewed it last month and loved every moment; it might be Mario’s best 3D outing yet.
Persona 5 Strikers
Release date: 23rd February
Formats: PS4, PC, Switch
Persona 5 is back, but not quite how you know it. Mixing the unforgettable storytelling of the Persona series with the action-packed gameplay of a Musou title, Persona 5 Strikers promises to be a lot of fun. We previewed it last month, and can’t wait to play more.
