Healing in Atelier Ryza 2 is important, but it’s not made very clear how to do it. So, here’s everything you need to know about how to heal.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, follows up 2019’s wonderful JRPG that puts you in the shoes of Ryza, a trainee alchemist. Along with creating weird and wonderful objects in her Atelier, she also spends a lot of her time out adventuring with her friends, and that means encountering monsters. Ryza and the rest of your party will inevitably take damage, so it’s important you keep their HP topped up. But how do you heal in Atelier Ryza 2?
Before you can heal, you’ll need to craft suitable items in the Atelier first. One of the first items you’ll unlock are ‘Grass Beans’, which can be used to heal your party. You’ll need to unlock it on your skill tree first, then interact with your cauldron to make it.
Once you’ve made Grass Beans – or whichever healing item of your choice – you’ll need to equip it as a “Core Item”. Go to the main character menu (press ‘triangle’ on PS4) then choose ‘Core Items’. From there, you can equip a number of items to each character. Add the healing items you’ve just crafted to whichever character(s) you’d like.
Once the item is on your Core Items wheel, it will stay there. To use one in battle, you’ll need to have built up some action points (AP). Don’t worry; these automatically generate as your team fights. Once you can use an item, you’ll see the ‘item’ prompt pop up. Press the corresponding button (‘square’ on PS4), then select the item and the character you’d like to use it on.
You can also heal out in the field or while adventuring. Go to the main character menu, and choose ‘basket’. From there, toggle to ‘consumables’ by using your right shoulder button. Select Grass Beans, or whichever other healing item you’d like to use, then select the character you’d like to use it on.
Hey presto – you’ve now regained some HP. That’s all you need to know about how to heal in Atelier Ryza 2. Good luck out there!
