Wondering how to lower the CC cost of an item in Atelier Ryza 2? Here’s everything you need to know.
CC – or Core Charge – is a value used in battle that determines how many items you can use. Every item in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy has a CC cost. Early healing items in the game require just one CC point. Items you’ll unlock later in the game, however, require multiple CC points. And towards the end of the game, you might find item combinations costing more CC than Ryza actually has available. So, how do you lower the CC cost of an item?
First things first: you can’t lower the CC cost of every item. Only a handful of items, the most expensive, will let you do this. You do so via the Item Rebuild system. You’ll need to have unlocked this on the skill tree before you use it. Rebuilding an item also costs gems, so you’ll need “Gem Reduction” unlocked on your skill tree, too.
In Ryza’s atelier, interact with her cauldron, and select “Item Rebuild”. Select the item you want to reduce the CC of. Looking at the item map, you can see at a glance what is available to upgrade. If you can reduce the CC of an item, you’ll see at least one nodule labelled “CC”. You’ll need to add the required elements in order to activate it, and you’ll see the CC number in the top-left of the screen go down when you do.
The only items we’ve found that let us lower the CC cost – or indeed that we’ve needed to lower the CC cost of – are N/A and Apocalypse, two items that are needed to activate the “Testament Meteor” Core Drive. One has a CC cost of 9 and the other has 8; we had to reduce both items by one to allow Ryza (with a max CC of 15) to use them.
