In a surprise announcement, Square Enix have revealed that virtually every Kingdom Hearts game is coming to the PC.
As of March 30th you’ll be able to purchase and download the previously console-only Kingdom Hearts series, through the Epic Games Store. Kingdom Hearts is an RPG series that mixes Square Enix and Disney characters to create a fun if occasionally baffling series. Why baffling? Because it takes a leaf out of Assassin’s Creed’s book and has a numbering
system designed by a madman. Luckily, Square Enix has bundled the games together so should be able to play them in roughly the right order, though you’re in a for a long haul. The four bundles are:
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX containing KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories, KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics), KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX and KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded.
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue containing KINGDOM HEARTS, Dream Drop Distance HD, KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage and KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover.
KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC)
KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory
The latter is a rhythm game while most of the rest are action RPGs. We gave Kingdom Hearts 3 a seven out of ten, praising the “the impossibly high levels of polish that leave me aching for more”, while criticising the overly-dense narrative. But if you’re prepared to go all in, you should be in for a real ride.
The Kingdom Hearts series will be available through the Epic Games Store this March 30th.
