Knockout City Brings Multiplayer Dodgeball Fun to PC and Consoles

Knockout City

High school’s most dreaded team sport is headed to PC and consoles with this upcoming title.

EA and Velan Studios announced at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct their upcoming dodgeball-inspired game, Knockout City. A bright and colourful competitive multiplayer experience, it has players mastering all of the basics of dodgeball.

In the game players will learn how to throw, catch, pass and (hopefully) dodge in order to go up against the harsh competition. Players can expect 3v3, 4v4 or free-for-all quick matches in Street Play. Those that wish to compete in a more hardcore way can play in ranked games in League Play. There will also be Private Matches for those that want to play with just their friends.

Once you’ve made a name for yourself you’d probably like to look the part. Knockout City has got you covered there. You’ll be able to change your appearance, gear, attitude, body type, hairstyle as well as KO effects and taunts. You’ll be able to jump into a game with your fully customisable character with up to 32 friends across multiple platforms. Once you’ve made a crew you can even customise your logo, banner and Crew vehicle.

At launch the game will include five multiplayer maps and a practice area. Players will also have access to six ball types, full character customisation, cross-play, cross-progression, Street Play with five starting playlists, League Play, Private Match and finally, a Street Rank Progression with hundreds of cosmetic items.

If you want to give the game a try sooner rather than later, you can sign up to join the beta happening on February 20-21.

Knockout City is set to launch on May 21, 2021 for $19.99. When it launches, players will have access to a free trial for a limited time on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
