Ratchet and Clank is absolutely free, thanks to Sony’s returning Play at Home initiative.
The original Play at Home launched last year, when we were in the middle of a pandemic, giving Playstation owners The Uncharted Collection and Journey for absolutely nothing. Now, a year later, we’re still struggling with lockdown so Sony have decided to repeat the inititiative.
So, from March 1st to April 1st, if you’ve got a PS4 or PS5 you’ll be able to download and keep 2016’s Ratchet and Clank for free. Is it worth having? Absolutely – we called it an “accomplished reimagining one of the highlights of the PS4’s catalogue”and gave it an outstanding 9 out of 10.
On top of that freebie, from March 25 you can get extended access to Funimation, the streaming anime service, if you’re in one of the country it services. Specific details of the offer have yet to be revealed, though we do suspect it’ll basically be an extended trial, turning into a chargeable subscription after a specific date.
Play at Home will also offer a range of other things, which could be freebies or offers like the Funimation deal. Either way, we’re not going to complain about getting Ratchet & Clank for free, especially with the sequel waiting in the wings. You can read Sony’s Play at Home announcement here.
