The Division 2 Has New Content on the Way

New The Division 2 content will be arriving this year, despite earlier expectations.

The Division 2’s development team have announced that, while last year’s Title Update 12 was meant to be the online action RPG’s last update, 2021 will see a swathe of new content.

The team stated that this was in response to ‘continued support’, which we can take to mean the number of active players, the number of people paying for cosmetic in-game items and the general buzz around the game.

True, Ubisoft wasn’t going to yank the servers any time soon; the game requires an always online connection but the original The Division, which launched in 2016, is still playable. But it shows Ubisoft’s willing to at least use some development money to support the title while working on the inevitable sequel.

Reviewing The Division 2, we said “In developing The Division 2, Ubisoft has taken what worked from the first game and listened to fans, creating a follow up that’s captivating and densely packed with things to do.” So there’s certainly plenty to like about The Division 2.

The new content will be free, as has been the case since the game’s launch, though there’s no information yet on when it will drop. Watch this space for more details.
