The Ninja Gaiden Trilogy Is Hacking Its Way Back Into Action

Ninja Gaiden, the action hack-em-up series, is arriving on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Not to be confused with its 2D forbears, Ninja Gaiden was released in 2004 and saw you, as ninja Ryu Hayabusaa, murdering your way through demons, other ninjas and anyone who stood in your way. It was followed by two sequels, the latter of which arrived in 2012. The first game was famed for being Dark Souls difficult, before Dark Souls was even a glint in From Software’s eye. And now PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play the entire trilogy. Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S owners will also be able to experience it through backwards compatibility.

Dubbed Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, the enhanced re-release will feature all three titles and will launch 10th June 2021. While multiplayer elements have been removed (they were never a huge part of the original games) the trilogy will feature most of the extras from the subsequent ‘Sigma’ Ninja Gaiden re-releases. There’s also a crossover happening with Nioh 2 whereby owners of that title can, as of today, dress as Ryu Hayabusaa.

You can check out the trailer below and your hands on Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection this June 10th.
