Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is getting a next gen upgrade and will also be skateboarding onto the Nintendo Switch.
“Hang on,” you might be asking, “Don’t you mean are getting a next gen upgrade?” Not at all because, despite the mildly confusing title, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a single game, a remastered version of the first two titles in the series. We reviewed last year, calling it “the best skateboarding game available right now” and now it’s set to get even better.
Nothing’s changing in the way of gameplay, but the title is getting a Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S/X upgrade which should make it look even prettier on next-gen consoles. The Playstation 5 and Series X/S versions will be available from March 26th and will be free to anyone who’s bought Pro Skater 1 + 2 on PS4 or Xbox One.
On top of that Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be landing on the Nintendo Switch that same day, letting you take your virtual skateboarding on the move. We’re waiting for the inevitable, horrifying YouTube video of someone playing Switch Pro Skater while pulling off skateboard tricks, giving the camera a big thumbs up as their leg bone protrudes through their skin.
