Back 4 Blood has been delayed and will now be released in October.
After getting our hands on zombie-slaughtering shoot-em-up Back 4 Blood, we were champing at the bit to play Left 4 Dead’s unofficial sequel. Unfortunately, like a lot of titles recently, it’s been delayed, from a June release to an October one. Sure, October seems more appropriate given the game’s horror-themed content, but the delay’s still disappointing.

The good news is that there will be a second, open beta between now and October, giving us a chance to experience Back 4 Blood anew, blasting through waves of the undead with squad-mates who may or may not be hugely incompetent. It’s not clear whether the beta will feature the same levels we’ve already seen or if we’re getting a new area; we’re hoping for the latter, but we’ll settle for either.
Back 4 Blood isn’t technically Left 4 Dead 3, but it’s made by the same team who created the first two titles, Valve apparently having shown little interest in a proper sequel. Back 4 Blood will arrive on the PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S this October 12th.
