Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights Has Been Delayed Until 2022

Originally planned for a 2021 release, Gotham Knights won’t be swinging onto the scene until 2022.

As revealed by the official Gotham Knights Twitter account, the superhero open-world action RPG has been delayed to “deliver the best possible experience for players.” That vague explanation side, it’s unclear why it’s been delayed, whether Coronavirus played a part or whether the game just wasn’t up to scratch.

Either way, you’ll have to wait till 2022 to become a Gotham Knight, delivering vigilante justice to any bad guy who crosses your path. The game casts you as Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood who are fighting crime in the wake of Batman’s death. Yes, Batman almost certainly isn’t dead and Gotham Knights will no doubt end with him watching the four, unobserved, but we’ll bite for now.

The major threat this time around comes from the Court of Owls who, apart from pooing out pellet full of bones, are determined to wreak havoc in Gotham. There’s also a co-op element so players can drop in to assist you and drop out again when they realise they’re hospitalising people who could barely afford to feed their families in the first place. Pity Bruce Wayne didn’t use his billions to actually fight poverty in Gotham.

There’s no new release date, or even release quarter, for Gotham Knights, just that it should be arriving next year. We’ll let you know when we have more information, same Bat Time, same Bat Channel.
