Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is now available on next-gen consoles as well as Switch and PC, meaning more people can play it than ever before.
There’s good news for those who previously purchased the game on PS4 or Xbox One, too, as they get a free upgrade to the next-gen version – within the same console family of course. So, those who purchased the Xbox One version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will find their game automatically upgraded to the next-gen version if they have an Xbox Series X or S, while those who purchased the game on PS4 are able to grab a free PS5 upgrade from the PlayStation Store, whether they own the game digitally or physically.
Save data from the last-gen version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time can be carried over as well. On Xbox Series X/S it’s done automatically thanks to Smart Delivery. On PS5, however, there’s a hoop to jump through.
To import your save data from the PS4 version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time into the PS5 version, you first need to ensure you have the PS4 version of the game installed and up to date. Once that’s done, launch the PS4 version of the game and on the main menu press the square button to access your save game slots. From there, highlight the save game slot you wish to import into the PS5 version of the game, then press the triangle button to upload it to the cloud.
Once your PS4 save data has been uploaded to the cloud, you’re able to import it into the PS5 version of the game. To do that, download the PS5 version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time if you haven’t already done so and then launch it. If it’s your first time playing the PS5 version then you’ll be prompted to import your save during setup. Otherwise, press the square button on the main menu to access your save game slots, then press the triangle button to download your PS4 save data from the cloud. And there you go, your PS4 save data has now been imported into the PS5 version of the game.
