A new open world co-op action game is on the way from the team behind PUBG Mobile.
Tencent Games and Lightspeed & Quantum Studios announced yesterday Undawn, a new co-op action game set in a post-apocalyptic world. In it, players will be fighting against hordes of zombies as well as other humans. It’s set to release on PC, iOS and Android later this year.
In Undawn, players are given free reign of the open world. In an RPG fashion they’re able to scavenge resources to craft supplies and weapons in order to survive. They must then use what they’ve created to battle enemies. Players must build themselves shelters to protect themselves. They can also trade resources.
Rick Li, the Executive Producer at Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, stated that the reason they wanted to include Undawn on mobile platforms is to give all players a chance to play, even if they don’t have access to a PC. “Even more players around the globe will be able to [play] together, creating the potential for a huge new type of open world experience,” he said.
Undawn will combine player vs. player (PvP) and player vs. environment (PvE) gameplay in order to create a new, unique take on the RPG survival genre.
There’s not much else to go on yet – we’re still waiting on an official trailer to be released – but you can find out more information by visiting Undawn‘s official website or following its Twitter account.
