Resident Evil Village is Coming to Google Stadia

Resident Evil Village is coming to Google Stadia.

That’s not an enormous surprise if we’re honest. Ever since Google shuttered its internal Stadia development studio, we’ve expected them to go all out on third party games. Resident Evil Village is a tall, er, huge title so paying to put it on Stadia makes a lot of sense.

What’s a little more surprising is that Stadia have a special offer linked to the title that will let you get Google Stadia’s streaming console for free. If you buy Resident Evil Village on Stadia you’ll receive a Google Stadia Premiere Edition for nothing.

Naturally, terms and conditions apply, while stocks last, etc.. but for $69.99 or $79.99 (for the Standard or Deluxe editions of Village), you’ll get a Stadia Joypad and a Google Chromecast Ultra.

We were going to say “all you need to stream games via Stadia” but there is one additional proviso; you need a decent collection, at least a steady 10Mbps. We’ve talked about Stadia on a few occasions, and it’s always come back to internet speed. So if you are going for this offer, we’d recommend you use a few different internet speed testers (not just speedtest.net) just to see what kind of speeds you’ll get.

Resident Evil Village, the eighth entry in the main Resident Evil series, will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PC and now Google Stadia this May 7th.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
