Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Celebrates Its Third Anniversary

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Winds of Magic

It’s been three years since Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was released and developers Fatshark are celebrating.

We were surprised to discover that, despite its title, it wasn’t a rodent-based surfing sim but a co-op heavy fantasy-style action game. But once we got over our disappointment we had a Skaven-gnawed whale of a time, saying that “If you’re into co-op gaming then Vermintide 2 is essential”.

So, three years after its PC release (it later came to consoles), there’s a special anniversary event taking place. You can find more details of the celebrations here, but the main highlight is a new mission, “A Quiet Drink”, that’s available up until the March 14th. We’ve yet to dive in ourselves but it looks like a glorious, violent pub crawl, the kind that would be frowned on in the real world but is actively encouraged in the World of Warhammer.

Double XP is also on offer, so if you’ve not touched Vermintide 2 in a while, now’s the time to jump back in and fill your cups with Skaven blood. And if you’re a regular player, you’re probably already knee-deep in booze and giant rat corpses.

We still want that rat surfing game, though. Maybe we can get the Skatebirb team on it.
