Where to Find Mechanical Parts in Fortnite

Fortnite Mechanical Parts

Trying to find mechanical parts in Fortnite? They’re in more places than you might think.

Crafting is a brand new mechanic in Fortnite this season, and most of the weapons that you’re able to craft need mechanical parts in order to upgrade them. But where the heck do you find them? They’re actually not too hard to find if you know where to look. Here’s where to find mechanical parts in Fortnite.

The best way to get your hands on mechanical parts is by destroying boats or cars. You can’t go very far on the Fortnite map without running into a few vehicles along the way. By smashing them with your pickaxe you’ll pick up at least one mechanical part per car. I highly recommend going to Caty Corner where there are compact cars – these also drop parts and the car doesn’t blow up if you hit it too much.

Additionally, there are other metal or mechanical items that drop the parts, like the forklifts over at the Dirty Docks. Use your best judgement and if you think something would drop a mechanical part in real life, it probably will in Fortnite.

You can also purchase mechanical parts from NPCs. There are 42 NPCs on the map and we’ve yet to meet them all but we are certain that the characters Cole and Jules sell them. Jules is located south of Caty Corner and south of the big snowy mountain in a location with compact cars and a water tower. You can find Cole west of the Steamy Stacks.

Finally, another easy way to grab some extra parts is by killing players. When players die they will drop whatever mechanical parts they were carrying, meaning more tasty, tasty parts for you. Most weapons require four mechanical parts in order to upgrade them so be sure to collect as many as you can if you want to upgrade your full arsenal.
