Diablo II: Resurrected is clawing its way out of the grave this weekend.
Not all the way, mind you, there’s still a way to go before this remaster arrives. But one rotting claw will be emerging from the topsoil, in the shape of a single-player technical alpha, playable this weekend.
You’ll have to opt into the alpha, by going to the Diablo II: Resurrected website and registering with your Battle.net account. That won’t guarantee you access to the alpha as, according to Blizzard:
“A limited selection of players who opted-in for Technical Alpha will be chosen randomly for access and will receive instructions on how to participate over email in the coming days.”
Limited could mean 10, 100, 100,000 players and so on, but if you’re champing at the bit to dive into this new iteration of Diablo II it’s your best bet for now. As for us? We’re sort of looking forward to it – we had a whale of a time with the original Diablo and Diablo 2. But Blizzard made a bit of a mess of Warcraft III: Reforged, so we’re not absolutely sure what we’re going to get.
You can sign up for the Diablo II: Resurrected alpha through the official website.
