Following the announcement earlier this month, Genshin Impact’s PS5 release now has a date. And it’s not so far away.
Released last year from MiHoYo, free-to-play RPG Genshin Impact has been something of a runaway success. Set in the huge open world of Teyvat, players are tasked with exploring, engaging in combat, and improving their character by finding new weapons and resources. Considering it’s all playable for free, there’s a heck of a lot to sink your teeth into here.
Despite already being playable on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, MiHoYo announced on 1st April that Genshin Impact would be getting a dedicated PS5 version. Exact performance specifications haven’t been revealed, but we can expect “enhanced visuals and game performance”. And it’s less than two weeks away: Genshin Impact will be landing on PS5 on 28th April.
The PS5 release comes alongside the game’s Version 1.5 update. Titled “Beneath the Light of Jadeite”, the update promises to give players a deeper look into the history of Liyue, it’ll introduce new characters Eula and Yanfi, and bring new foes to the battlefield. Your character will also be able to access a “personal realm” – a sanctuary you can call home, which you can decorate and furnish as you wish.
We’re looking forward to seeing how Genshin Impact looks and performs on PS5 when it releases on 28th April. If you want to find out more about the game, visit the official website here.
