Nier Replicant will launch with a whole host of new dungeons and additional content.
The twist is that this extra content isn’t bound up in some “premium edition” version of the game and will be available to all Nier Replicant players. The content isn’t entirely new to Nier, but it’s never been seen outside of Japan so even if you played the original, chances are this new remastered version will have more to offer.
Aside from new dungeons, purchasers will also get the extra “Mermaid” episode, which features a little girl and a wrecked ship. We’ve got a feeling we know exactly how that episode’s going to go, but we won’t spoil it for you.
Another new feature is that you’ll be able to switch over to the soundtrack from NieR:Automata and also download the main characters’ outfits from that game. The latter sounds very cool, though we’re not entirely sure about the former. Yes, Automata’s soundtrack is great, but just shoehorning it into another game seems a little off.
You can get your hands on Nier Replicant when it hits PC, Xbox and Playstation this April 23rd.
