With Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin arriving soon, Capcom has revealed more information about the title, as well as releasing an update for Monster Hunter Rise.
As revealed at their Monster Hunter Digital Event, a second free Monster Hunter Rise update has arrived today, bringing with it two extra monsters, new quests, new weapons and even a new ending. Monster Hunter Rise’s original ending was quite the cliffhanger, so it’s not surprising Capcom have now fixed it.
The two “new” monsters are Crimson Glow Valstrax, a variant of the same beast from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, and Apex Zinogre, an amped-up, er Zinogore. Yes, the beasts aren’t 100% new but we’re sure monster hunters will welcome the challenge.
On the Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin front, Capcom have revealed more about the game, which will be landing on Nintendo Switch and PC this July, also putting out a new trailer. When Wings of Ruin arrives you be able to enter monster lairs to take eggs, which definitely a good idea with no possible ill effects. You’ll also get to use the Rite of Channeling to build your own unique collection of monsters, which the game dubs Monsties.
The trailer also shows off the “rage” which has been turning Monster Hunter’s beasts into human-hating killing machines. We though it was just that they’d become sick of being hunted, but apparently not.
Monster Hunter Rise is out on Switch right now, and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will arrive on Switch and PC this July 9th.
