Are you Guilty? Are you a Gear? Then Guilty Gear Strive second open beta is for you!
Okay, we admit it, we don’t actually know what a Guilty Gear is. Yes, we could look it up on Wikipedia but, if we’re honest, it doesn’t matter. We don’t play the Guilty Gear games for their story, we play them for their excellent fighting mechanics and cast of absolutely bizarre characters. And this May we, and the rest of the Playstation-owning world, can get our hands on Guilty Gear Strive.
No, it’s not out early, the game’s still set for June release after being again. But between May 14th (04:00 BST) and May 16th (also 04:00 BST) you can play the second Guilty Gear Strive online beta. You can also pre-download the online beta from May 7th in case you suffer from slow transfer rates, or just want to glare at it for no good reason. The final game will be arriving on PC but the beta is only open to PS4 and PS5 owners.
The beta will add I-No and Anji Mito to the roster meaning you’ll able to access Guilty Gear Strive’s full character roster. You don’t have to have pre-ordered the game to experience the beta, which is definitely a good thing. How so? Because the last online beta wasn’t particularly impressive; a lot of people reported connection issues which, in turn, led to developers Arc System Works delaying the final release. If the second beta is plagued by issues we anticipate a lot of cancelled pre-orders.
The second Guilty Gear Strive online beta begins this May 14th and, provided everything goes well, the full game will arrive this June 11th.
