New Pokémon Snap isn’t your typical Pokémon game: it’s all about photographing them rather than battling with them. But there’s still a huge amount of creatures to find.
Rather than have a Pokédex, as you’ll be familiar with from other Pokémon games, in New Pokémon Snap you have a Photodex. And as you photograph new Pokémon, their entry will get added to your Photodex. If you want to fill your Photodex, how many photos will you need to take? And how many Pokémon are in New Pokémon Snap?
Set in the Lental region, there are many different types of environments to explore in New Pokémon Snap. That means many different kinds of Pokémon are lurking around the game’s world. Overall, you’ll find 214 different Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap. And naturally, some of them are much harder to find than others.
But completing your Photodex isn’t as easy as photographing each Pokémon once. No; each creature has four different states (or behaviours) that need to be captured, with each behaviour being given a 1, 2, 3 or 4 star rating. To complete a collection for a Pokémon, you need at least one photo for each star rating. You might not be able to get all of them straight away until you’ve ranked up in an area.
In order to find all 214 Pokémon, you’ll need to visit all areas in the game, at both day and night. Good luck!
