It’s important to save regularly in any open world game – you don’t want to lose any precious progress.
Thankfully, Biomutant makes saving your game very easy. And you can do it (mostly) freely, no matter where you are in the world.
In order to save your game, simply press the ‘options’ button to bring up the main menu. Navigate to “system” on the right-hand side and press X (A on an Xbox controller). From here, navigate down to “save”.
You can use multiple slots to save, so if you want to create multiple files for multiple parts of your adventure, that’s fine.
While you can save almost anywhere, you can’t while in combat, so make sure you’re free of pursuers before heading into the system menu. Make sure you save before you quit the game, too. There is also a generous autosave function, so it’s unlikely you’ll lose much progress should your system or game crash, but it’s still a good idea to get into the habit of creating a manual save regularly.
