Wondering how to save your game in Resident Evil Village? Here’s everything you need to know.
Although it may have a very different feeling to earlier Resident Evil games, Resident Evil Village still shares much of the DNA of its predecessors. And that means its save system will likely be familiar to anyone who’s played other Resi games. In other words, you need to find a typewriter before you can save.
Unfortunately, you can’t just save your progress in Resident Evil Village wherever you like. There’s no option in the menu to simply ‘save’. You need to locate a typewriter in the world. Once you’ve found one, interact with it in order to save.
You’ll find the first typewriter inside the strange-looking hut in the village graveyard, just before you enter the castle. Once you’re in the castle, you’ll also find one in the Duke’s room – the place where you can purchase items and upgrades.
So: make sure you save your game every time you stumble upon a typewriter. And be sure to find a typewriter before you turn off the game. Once you’re in the castle, the easiest way is to head back to the Duke’s room.
There’s one saving grace, though: you don’t need to find typewriter ribbons this time around. As long as you find a typewriter, you’re free to save.
