Post-apocalyptic action-RPG Remnant: From the Ashes is getting a next-gen patch next week.
The patch, arriving this May 13th, won’t give the game a complete face lift but it will make slaughtering your way through a ruined world a little more striking. Arriving on both Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 it’ll give you the choice of playing Remnant in 1080p mode at 60FPS, for 4K mode at 30FPS.
Basically, that means the game will either run smooth as silk or it’ll run at a slower but still respectable 30FPS and look much prettier. Granted, you might not have the time to gawp when enemies are trying to divorce your head from your shoulders but it means Remnant is at least making use of your new console’s power.
But is Remnant: From the Ashes worth playing at all? We’d say so. In our review we gave it a “good” 7 out 10, though we noted that “additional polish and tweaks are needed to really make it great.” And, two years since its release, you can now pick it up for a reasonable, mid-range price. What have you got to lose, apart from several pints of blood?
