RiMS Racing invites you to don a helmet, leap onto your motorbike and racing for your life.
It doesn’t invite you to immediately turn around and drive the wrong way round the track, seeing how many people you can slam into before the marshal removes from us the race, but we’re going to give that a go anyway. However, once we’ve got that out our systems we’ll be ready to race and, if the new trailer is anything to go by, RiMS Racing will give us a ride for our money.
What’s impressive about this glimpse into the world of motorbike racing is that RiMS looks like it will deliver a sense of speed. What it doesn’t show is your rider hitting the road which, going by our track record, will happen rather a lot. Ever since the days of Super Hang On we’ve put speed before safety with predictable, race-losing results. We’ll have to see if we can keep our hands off the throttle this time.
On top of racing, RiMS features actual real-world bikes, giving you the freedom to tune them to your hearts content. You can even take your bike to pieces – though we suspect RiMS won’t let you have bits left over. Because, lets face it, you’re not a proper mechanic unless there’s a few spare screws when you’re done.
RiMS Racing will be riding on Xbox, Playstation and PC this August 19th. You can wishlist it on Steam here.
