Sony has a new State of Play this Thursday and it’s going to be shining a light on Horizon: Forbidden West.
The follow-up to Horizon: Zero Dawn. Forbidden West takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where robotic animals roam the land. As bow-wielding badass Aloy, you track them down and use their components upgrade your kit and, in all likelihood, save the world.
True, we don’t have confirmation that Horizon: Forbidden West features a potentially world-ending threat but it’s a pretty sure bet. But we’ll have learnt a lot more after this Thursday, which is when Sony’s Forbidden West-focused State of Play takes place. And it’ll feature.. wait for it.. 14 minutes of new gameplay footage.
That’s not an awful lot, but that’s not why we’re excited for this next State of Play. We had a mecha-whale of a time with Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC, and we’re hoping that Sony will reveal the release date for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 based sequel. We’ve heard September bandied about but we’re hoping we’ll know for certain this Thursday.
Sony’s next State of Play takes place online, at 2PM EST, 10PM BST, 11PM CST (or your local) equivalent this Thursday May 27th.
