Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is arriving on Switch, letting you take the skateboard sim anywhere.
Granted, it’s not the first skating game for the Nintendo Switch but it’s the most iconic, a re-release of the first two titles in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. We remember playing the Gameboy Advance version of THPS so we’re excited to see this get a portable release.
Of course, you can always play it in docked mode, but there’s a definite pick-up-and-play feel to the games, just the thing for a train or bus journey. We’re sure someone will also attempt to play THPS 1 + 2 while skateboarding and slap it on YouTube, no matter how bad an idea that might be.
We certainly got a kick out of this remaster; reviewing it, we said “It has all the elements that made the original games great, but then adds to them.” We went on to award it an “outstanding” 9 out of 10, high praise indeed. However, its release is also a little bittersweet; Vicarious Visions, the team responsible for the game ended up being turned into a support studio by owners Activison Blizzard.
The game has already received a PC, Xbox and Playstation release so it was only a metter of time before it hit the Switch. So, if you’re hungry for some skating on the go, you can dive into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 when it arrives on the Nintendo Switch this June 25th.
