Monster-bopping platform adventure Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is bouncing onto consoles this month.
Well, not all of them – Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is set for a May 28th release on the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch but isn’t hitting the Xbox. It’s the latest entry in the long-running Wonder Boy series which started in with the arcade release of, er, Wonder Boy.
We can’t say we’ve spent much time playing it, it always bothered us that the game forced you to keep moving. Wonder Boy in Monster Land was much more up our street, since it gave you the freedom to tackle enemies at your own pace and it’s this second entry that this new game looks set to channel.
This new game is a colourful side-scroller that sees you roaming Monster World, dispatching enemies with your cutlass and enlisting the aid of your sidekick Pepelogoo. Aside from just slashing away at enemies you can also bounce on them with your blade, piercing their fragile skulls. That said, that still sounds more humane than just jumping on them Super Mario style.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will arrive on Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 May 28th as both a digital and boxed release.
