A Plague Tale: Innocence is Getting a Sequel

Amicia and Hugo are back in another gory, heart-stopping adventure.

Revealed during Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Asobo and Focus Home Interactive are working on a sequel to a Plague Tale: Innocence. Called A Plague Tale: Requiem, it’s coming in 2022 and looks to directly continue the story of Amicia and Hugo.

The short trailer doesn’t give much away; we see Hugo and Amicia, both looking a little older, and Amicia certainly a little tougher and wiser. We also see a huge plague of rats, a signature scene from the original game.

We loved A Plague Tale: Innocence, praising its storytelling and gameplay along with its beautiful setting. So we’re hopeful its sequel will be bigger and better, especially with the extra oomph provided to it by next-gen consoles.

We’ll likely have to wait a while to see more from the game, including some gameplay, but we’ll keep you updated as we find out more. We do know, though, that when it releases in 2022, it’ll be coming to Game Pass on day one.

Give the trailer a watch below.

Kim's been into video games since playing Dizzy on her brother's Commodore 64 as a wee nipper. She'll give just about anything a go, but she's got a soft spot for story-driven adventures and open world escapades. If she's not gaming, she's probably cooing over pictures of baby animals or watching re-runs of Friends for the 137th time.
